Ashtanga Yoga Private Course: Module 1
The Internal Form | 8 Sessions
About this Class
Ashtanga, derived from the Sanskrit words "ashta" (eight) and "anga" (limb), is a profound exploration of the Eight Limbs of Yoga, a foundational framework that underpins the practice and philosophy of yoga. Building upon the strong foundation established in our introductory course, this sequel is designed to take you beyond the external aspects of your practice and immerse you in the essence of Ashtanga Yoga. The motto is to build an understanding bridge between the traditional Ashtanga philosophy/method (as described in the Yoga Sutras and in ancient Vedic texts), and the Ashtanga Vinyasa physical practice which - although being ancient, as well - has had it’s main developments and growth, to a more modern form, in the 20th century by Tirumalai Krishnamacharya and K. Pattabhi Jois. Our mission in this second course is to bring you closer to the pillars of Ashtanga Yoga, dedicating each class to one of the eight limbs. This holistic approach ensures that you not only deepen your physical practice, but also gain profound insights into the rich philosophy that underlies this ancient tradition. Course Structure and Topics: - Class 1: Yamas - Class 2: Nyamas - Class 3: Asana - Class 4: Pranayama - Class 5: Pratyahara - Class 6: Dharana - Class 7: Dhyana - Class 6: Samadhi
